I'm glad that other people have mentioned what I was thinking; there is something unusual about this, definitely Not sure what it is either. Maybe, like you say, it's the rocks in the foreground making it look like a model. I also think the stairs make an optical illusion of the perspective maybe. Cool.
I must admit, I don't like landscapes in general, but I do like this for some reason
