Caught this on the CA.org angels fall first thread - very compelling sense of volume and functionality.

Very impressive. If there's anything it reminds me of, it's the armour the marines in Doom 3 wear. But much, much sexier.

no i didn't mean make any modifications to them i mean just plain ol fanart, cuz I know I would have a hard time keeping all those details on Master Cheifs armor straight, much less on the Covenant gear. But maybe it'd be easy for you?

That or maybe more Orbital Frames or Armored Cores, I dunno ^^;

oh, I see. I rarely do fanart, and I’m not that big of a fan of the designs.
I do love the weapons though. I’d like to build some 1/1 replicas of them some day :D

OMG I love ! :D This will be great fun to model! :D

One question though; what exactly is the ring protruding from his chest?

nice to hear you’re positive about it :)

I was thinking it’s either an additional sensor, or a connector for air supply in zero-G.
...or peerhaps a weapon mount? :D

I vote for servo-harness heavy weapons

and a chainsword

and maybe some purity seals

then you have to take off the helmet, revealing a scraggly bald british dude

I vote air / nutritional supply while in suspended animation for long term space deployment. ;)

and this is done on photoshop/painter right? Are the lines and colors on different layers? I have the hardest time using painter to draw/color.

lines are ink, colours PS. yup, they are in seperate layers.

nice, I don't think there's enough power armor around. Plenty of mecha vehicles, not enough power armor.

probably because it’s harder do draw, since you have to pay closer attention to human anatomy.

voerall simply quality as always!
although after alot of back and forth to the old, i have reached a verdict.

and my vote would be to more closely blend the new and old

+feats new: helmet (drastic improvement!!!), upper torso, arms.

+feats old: sunken head/high collar look. heavy thick shoulderpads. i really like the broad shoulder "linebacker" look on the old

the old had a almost headless look, which i rather prefer. made it feel like a much heavyer set of armour. if you simply brought up the collar on this one a bit, giveing it the sunken head look. and then add a bit more shoulderpad coverage (maby by adding heinged plates around the existing shoulderpad, particularly one over the exposed "heinge" [both old and new seem to be lacking in the shoulder coverage]). then im thinkin perfect

simply suggestions, take em or leave em

p.s. please keep the "skirt" and sheild (or similar sheild) from the old one!!!

it will look more hunched over once it’s finished, trust me :) (this is supposed to be a medium size anyway ;))
oh, and the skirt will be there. I will have to see about the shield, it depends if I can make it tactical enough to seem feasible.

awsome! didnt know it was inteneded as a medium. i have full faith in your skill any day so im not concerned at all.

possible idea for the sheild: what about putting a sheild on each arm so that when a gun is held in fireing position the two sheilds offer full frontal torso coverage, fitting together somewhat like a puzzle?

well, I don’t know if people think there should be (super)heavy PA’s in AFF, perhaps they will settle for this one as a heavy, but I like the idea of them having something of a personal tank armour. I’ll probably be drawing one anyway ;)

that’s a cool idea, but it might not be as attractive visually in the game.

im pretty sure kris has been advocating the super hvy pa...but a personal tank armour could prove more entertianing, i say develope on that as well.

the puzzle sheild idea is simply a thot to toy around with. amybe you can come up with a way for it to be soweet, or maybe it goes on the sidelines who knows.

This is a very cool power armor thus far, least I'm guessing that's what it will be. Nice modular design work for the plates, I digs :D

Ahh, yes, that dude, which frankly is also badass (very cool all the variations). I think they're both pretty interesting but I completely understand the impulse to go back and try something new with a redesign, hell I sure do that myself enough :D

yeah, I’m pretty happy with the original, but there’s alot of shapes that needs to be defined and mechanics that needs to be worked out. like how the powered joints connects with the armour... etc.

Yeah, I can utterly understand, light body fitting powered armor suits can be a bitch and really have to look convincing or they kinda fall flat. Clearly you're going to have little problem pulling it off though :)

considering it will be modelled in 3D and animated, the mechanics has to be atleast decent :D
we’ll see how this sucker turns out :)

Quite true. Like I said, you have an interesting start so far, it's evoking something pretty groovin' at the moment. Powered suits can be soo damn cool done well I must say :)

like the MaK/SF3D designs. those are pretty fab.
if you’re gonna stick with the "groovy" thing, you’ll have to get youself a shotgun w/ a back holster (2nd floor, sporting section ;) )
